A crown is a type of dental restoration used to fix teeth that have been broken, weakened by decay or contain a very large filling. Here at Wisdom Dental we are experienced users of the ‘Cerec’ Same day crown restorations.

At Wisdom Dental, we have had this technology at the practice for over 15 years & having placed thousands of restorations, we are very experienced users of the CEREC. Patients are amazed and delighted at this revolutionary piece of equipment, which allows them to have affordable restorations placed so comfortably on the same day.

Here is how it works:

The dentist will prepare your tooth using a small drill.
A special camera is then used to take an image of your teeth which is then uploaded to the design unit.
This image is uploaded to a CAD/CAM unit, which creates a 3D model of your new tooth.
The model is used by a milling machine, which creates your new tooth from a block of high quality ceramic that best matches your surrounding teeth.
The restoration is then fixed into place.
